On Expendables 2 and Total Recall

Mood: Sad but optimistic
Listening to Calloway's You're My Everything

I watched two movies for the past two weeks, Expendables 2 and Total Recall. Both movies fell below my expectations. I really enjoyed The Expendables 1 even though they had less action stars there. Well, maybe because Jet Li has more exposures there compared to its sequel where he was only included in the first few minutes. Although Liam Hemsworth was a good addition, I didn't see him as an action star, to be a sniper, specifically. I don't have a specific favorite scene but I liked Terry Crews and Jason Statham in the movie. Terry Crews was so funny and Jason Statham remained as the hot knife guru. LOL. I also laughed so hard when Chuck Norris entered. That was epic!

Overall, it was fun watching The Expendables 2, but it didn't live up to my expectation. :(

My rating? It's 6.5!

Move on to the next film, Total Recall.

Total Recall features an advanced world which is so complicated to understand. They have this so-called colony where most Asians belong. I find it as racist. While my friends found it entertaining, I didn't find it at all. Too bad! I don't know if it's the actors, the story, or my situation that time. I could not concentrate on watching it because of some personal matters.

Do I need to rate this film? There's no need I think.

Crushing .....

I am so into Jeremy Renner these days!

I've been spending time researching news about him and his film, Bourne Legacy. Gosh! Although I like his role as Hawkeye in The Avengers, still he comes in second to Tom Hiddleston's Loki. However, after watching him in Bourne Legacy last Sunday, I think I might change my mind. Tom, you have make some movies very soon! LOL.

It took me a couple of days to finish the previous Bourne movies. Honestly, I am not a Matt Damon fan and even if I've watched four of his films including Adjustment Bureau, I never became his fan. But I don't despise him. In fact, I'm thankful he didn't accept the fourth movie or else I wont be able to see Jeremy Renner playing the role of Aaron Cross.

It was kinda long actually and at first, I felt kinda bored with all these conversation of other characters. But everytime Jeremy Renner appears on the scene, I'm all eyes and all ears. Haha. I like that this chracter talks a lot and has more emotions than the previous one. He also has this unexplainable charisma. Gosh! I super love his voice, can't forget his conversation with Scarlet Johannson in some interviews for The Avengers. YES! I'm a Rennerson shipper and I'm one of those hopefuls that Marvel will create a movie for Black Widow and Hawkeye.

Going back to The Bourne Legacy, I also like the way Racher Weisz's acted in the movie. She has good chemistry with Jeremy but I think Scarlet-Jeremy tandem is still better. Sorry for comparing the two. In terms of action, I spent most of the time at the edge of my seat when they begun to show the scenes shot in Manila. I can't help but feel proud of my country. The action sequence shot on the streets of Manila was very exciting and amazing. But it would have been better if they included more scenes involving Manila. I might be biased but the other scenes were actually boring and the pacing only improved when they came to Manila.

I give this movie a grade of 6/10, but since this is Jeremy's film, I'll make it 7.5/10.

MOOD: IN LOVE with Jeremy Renner
MUSIC: Currently listening to Kenny Roger's songs

Just an Update...

I actually couldn't remember the last time I blogged. But tonight, I suddenly remember that I haven't blogged for a while. Actually, this is a late entry because my internet connection keeps on fluctuating. Last week, I watched The Dark Knight Rises. I liked it very much because it's story has depth and the acting is superb as well. I also like the ending they gave to Batman! He deserves it, I think. :)

Christian Bale also deserves a best actor nomination for his role as Bruce Wayne. He looks old in this film but he's still hawt. Don't worry Thor, Hawkeye and Loki, you're still the best for me. :) I just can't help but admire him. British actors portraying superheroes I think act the best! And can I just say that the cameo of Liam Neeson in TDKR made me like the movie more. Afterall, I'm a Liam Neeson fan. :) Super excited for his movie, Taken 2. Of course, Expendables 2 and Bourne Legacy are on my list of must-watch!

My rating for this movie is 8/10. Like what I've said, I like how they ended the story but overall, I still enjoyed The Avengers better. Kekeke.

This coming October, I'll be on a trip with my officemates. Until now, we haven't found any hotel. I'm quite excited for this trip because I have always liked to visit Vietnam. Although I'm wishing for a miracle to happen while I'm there, I don't think it's possible. We, are simply impossible. Still, I am happy that I got to know that person. :)

Tonight, I went out with friends and co-workers to unwind. While we're at MOA, I was trying to update myself on the Olympics. So sad to know that Maria and Nole failed to win the gold medal. Aisshhhh.. But I'm still proud of the two of them. Even Barriga failed to advance to the next round in boxing. :(

But my night wasn't 100% bad because KHJ won the Best Asian Artist in The Asia Song Festival held in Yeosu tonight. Congratulations, KHJ! Henecians are super proud of you. :)

Movies...Movies...

Half of the year is almost over. Time to review the five movies I've watched for the past months. I'm not an expert when it comes to movies, so whatever I write here is purely based on my taste and preference.

Let me start with the first movie I watched at the beginning of the year, The Grey.

I watched this film with my good friend, Lhyza and she told me that I should have warned her. There were scenes in the film where wolves suddenly attack the group of survivors from the plane crash. Actually, I watched this movie because of Liam Neeson. I was bored and I remembered that my friend is coming to my place, so I invited her to see the movie. I think the movie is great! It's deep and scary at the same time. I was hoping that the main character would be able to survive till the very end of the film, only to find out that the movie's ending is a hazy. Still, that makes the movie awesome. You will really think if he survived or not!

Overall, I give the movie a 6/10. But story and acting-wise, I give it an 8/10. I'm a Liam Neeson fan after all. :)

The next movie that I watched was The Hunger Games!

I VOLUNTEER as a tribute!

Lhyza and I watched this filmed in Shang Ri La.I've read the book that's why I was excited to watch it on the big screen. I even posted a status on my Facebook account about this movie. While watching, I felt great because I was trying to remember the scenes from the book. I didn't expect that all of them will be included because of airtime. I liked the movie, Jennifer Lawrence moved me and almost made me cried when she shouted "I volunteered!" However, I felt a little dizzy because of the camera shakes. After watching it, I became a J-Law fan. No comment about Josh and Liam. Certainly not my type. LOL. Overall, I give it a 7/10.

I watched two movies last April, namely Battleship and The Avengers.

First reason why I watched this was because of Liam Neeson. However, I was kinda disappointed when I found out that his scenes were very short. I even thought that Battleship wasted his talent. But oh well, I had to deal with it because in the first place he's not the main actor in the movie. I had no reason to rant. Peace!

I dunno but I really enjoyed watching Battleship even though there were some loopholes in the story. Maybe I was just amazed with it's special effects. Or maybe it's Taylor Kitsch. Or Rihanna.

It's just my opinion but I think it's a mixture of Armageddon, Pearl Harbor, and Transformers. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed watching it. When I got home, I immediately search the name Alexander Skarsgard on the net. He's so damn gorgeous! I'm in love! Haha.

I'm giving Battleship an 8/10.

Up next is the The Avengers!

While watching Thor last year, I fell inlove with Tom Hiddleston's portrayal of Loki. I was really looking forward to him this year. Well, he never let me down. He's the best villain for me. :-).

I should say that the casting is SICK! It's AMAZING!

I have some favorite lines from the movie.

Loki: I have an army!
Tony Stark: We have a HULK.

Captain America: Big man in a suit of armour. Take that away and what are you?
Tony Stark: Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist?

Since I really had fun watching this film, I gave it a 9!! Can't wait for Thor 2 but I'm hopeful that there will be enough exposure for my Tom. LOL

And finally, just this month I watched Dark Shadows with my friend, Sam. We both like Johnny Depp so we agreed to watch it before our shift. I don't wanna elaborate on this, but I should have watched another film. Period.

Holy Week :)

Spending Holy Week is a MUST for me!

Why? It's the time wherein I am able to spend longer time with my family especially my parents. I remember when I was young, we spent Holy week with our friends and neighbors at the beach, but now, not anymore. We have our own priorities already and somehow I kinda feel awkward already. I dunno why...but it's how I feel.

Last Friday, I arrived at home in the afternoon because I had to work last Maundy Thursday. I'm not complaining because we're payed doubled. LOL. And besides, traffic condition is awful on those days because there are a lot of people who travel to their provinces. I was just worried because I was not sure if there are available buses to Batangas during that time. But thank God, there were but it took me a long time at the terminal because passengers are quite few already. Most of them were in the province already.

My niece and nephews, my cousin's children were persistent to go to the beach, so I granted their wish. Saturday morning, we went to the sea with my parents and our new puppies, Prince and Princess.

When we arrived at the sea, the sun is already up! Such a great scenery! Perfection indeed!

My nephews and nieces went to the water already and my parents took the dogs onto the water. Princess showed her skill in swimming while Prince seemed a little scared. LOL. Me? I'm searching for something...

Before 8am, we went home already because the sun is totally up. What a day! :)

Happy Birthday to ME :)

Gifts....gifts.... gifts....

I'm posting some pics of presents I received last April 9 from special people who took time to give me something. To all of you, thank you very much! I don't really care much if I receive something on my birthday to be honest. I'm already happy with greetings from people who remember that it's my birthday. So, to all of you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. :)

Honestly speaking, I didn't receive yet the gift that I asked (secretly) for my birthday. I guess, only time will tell when will I receive it or will I ever receive it. But I'm still keeping myself optimistic that someday He'll grant my birthday wish. God is great! :)

Game winner

I woke up early, thanks to my headache. Kinda pissed off right now. I checked what happened to Maria Sharapova's finals game in Miami and found out that she lost again. Maybe it's not yet the time. Maybe at Rolland Garros this year. =)
Well, I went to bed early coz I woke up early, too yesterday morning to catch Dallas game against Orlando. It was one hell of a ballgame. Orlando led for almost 46 minutes, then at the last 2 minutes, Dallas took over. Dirk sunk the game winner! That was a tough shot because the opponent was defending him well, but he still nailed it!  He's a beast indeed! Sooo proud! =).

Speaking of this man, I just found out from his interview that he's already engaged! Congratulations Dirk! The audio is here: http://bobanddanshow.tumblr.com/post/19965549332.

Inspiring CF

There's no doubt that when I'm down, I always watch their NBA finals games against Miami Heat. I dunno but their championship made a BIG impact on me. Sounds like a fairytale but they really won a championship last year. And regardless of this year's result, they are WORLD CHAMPS! and DIRK is GREAT!

Kidding aside, this week has been tough. I'm faced with an adversity which I dunno how to deal with. Damn! I'm not yet ready to speak about it, probably in time. I'm still keeping positive about it though. This too shall pass.

God, please help me.

I wanna talk to you.
I wanna see you.
I wanna hug you.

I keep on thinking about you.
I keep on saying your name.
I keep on reminiscing the old days.

Your face, your smile, the way you joke around with me..

I miss everything about you. I love you, my H♥.

Hunger Games "Fever"

I admit I'm one of those who are eager to watch the movie, which is based on the novel with the same title. Tomorrow, I'm gonna watch it with my friend. Some of my officemates have watched the film and they told me that it's great. I've also read some reviews about it and I think majority of them was affirmative of the film.

As a fan of the novel, I'm not expecting that it would be 100% translated into the movie. Of course, it's very difficult to squeeze everything in a 2-hr film. I am not also expecting a lot because I have experienced being frustrated with some movies in the past. When I watched the trailer, I felt like it's great, it's awesome. But when I watched it, duh! Non-sense at all. So, I'm still hopeful that this movie will wow me to the fullest.

I like the actress, Jennifer Lawrence, who's portraying the role of Katniss, the lead role. She's one of the most talented actress in the Hollywood right now. I think she will go places! And with Hunger Games and the remaining novel-turned movies, Catching Fire and Mockingjay, I think she will be Hollywood's Girl on Fire!

Personally, I'm not fond of reading books turned into movies. This is the first time I got addicted, honestly. Why? I think it's because of Katniss. I just love her character as a strong and independent woman. Usually, women are portrayed as weak in most films. They depend mostly on men in order to survive. But here, it's different. I think a lot of women will be inspired by her story. WOMAN POWER!

With regards to her "men," I think I like Gale more. Haha. I prefer men who are physically fit. In the story, Gale looks more masculine and fit compared to Peeta.

Here is the trailer of the movie.

I'm anticipating a lot of interesting and exciting movies this year. I will blog about them in the coming days. :) For now, I will enjoy Hunger Games.

"May the odds be ever in your favor!"

Cavite Escapade

It was already 3pm when we finally rode on a bus to Cavite. We planned to meet around 12:30 but we failed to leave before 1pm. While on the bus, me and Lhyza were having fun surfing the net. Haha. Thanks to Alfred for the free wifi. :)

Why are we going to Cavite in the first place? Well, it's Rhem's birthday and she invited us to celebrate it in Cavite with her family. Flattering indeed! kekeke.

Around 6pm, we finally arrived at Rhem's house. Wooooh!Traffic condition was so terrible!Thank God, I brought my ipod. I spent three hours listening to my favorite songs. We met her mother, aunts, uncle, brothers and sister. Her sister's name is the same as mine. Hehe. We also met two adorable kids, CJ and Tonton. It's my first time to meet Tonton but Em always tells me cute things about him. And we have the same thing in common! We both like Dirk Nowitzki. :) CJ is Em's brother's daughter. She's just 6 months old.

We just took a rest for a few hours and got ready to go to the swimming pool. I guess everyone was so excited to swim, well, with the exception of me. I'm not really fond of swimming. I had enough when I was young. I used to go to the sea every weekend when I was young, so the idea of swimming doesn't thrill me much. But of course, since it's Rhem's birthday, I want to have fun with them. We rode on a tricycle to get to the resort. The security was very strict. Good! But please, do not shake and open our Coke especially if it is still locked. You're makin me pissed, mr. Security Guard!

They started to swim already, but I felt so uncomfortable because it's VERY COLD!! as in it's SUPER COLD! Lhyza joined the others who were so excited to swim. I was left with my ipod, phone, and our friendly wifi. :)) When the food was already ready, they went back to the cottage and we ate together. I was so full! Gosh! Dieting is the last word in my dictionary. Around 1am when I finally decided to swim, waaaaaaaaaah! It was damn COLD there!! But it was fun! Really! It was fun taking pictures underwater. Thanks to TM Ninya's waterproofed camera. It was so difficult to open my eyes when I'm under. As a result, my pictures looked terrible. Huhuhu.

Around 3am, I decided to take a bath already. It was fun swimming but it's tiring! Besides, it's getting colder and colder outside. We're allowed to stay until 4am at the resort. By 4am, we went home to rest and sleep. I occupied the sofa in the living room, and the moment I closed my eyes, I immediately fell asleep.

Around 9:30 am, when I woke up. I saw the other having breakfast already. I had 5 hours of sleep and I felt that I should sleep more. However, it's getting hotter already and sleeping too much isn't healthy, too. I joined the ohers for breakfast. Fried rice with adobo matched with coffee...yummy!

After that, we watched an Indian movie about a kid with dyslexia. It was such a good movie for teachers and students. Indeed, every child is special and we must take care of them. They might not be all intelligent and smart, but for sure they have their own unique talents given by God. As an adult, we must help them to enhance their talents and skills. Amir Khan looks to handsome! He's such a fine actor, too. :) In case you're not familiar with him, he's the actor from the movie, 3 Idiots, which made a lot of people cried. My friends are one of them. Such a great movie, too! Better watch it if you haven't seen it! Worth your time! :)

It's lunch time already, but we're still full. I'm getting bigger already. Hihihi. Of course, we had lunch, liempo, and fish, yummy! But I had to control myself to eat more.Discipline. Disclipline. Kekekeke. Around 4pm, everyone started preparing their things while others were taking a bath. Pali! Pali!

Around 6pm, we left the house. But before leaving, we ate pancit and our favorite lumpiang shanghai. Thanks to Rhem's mom who cooked for us. Thanks a lot,Tita. We will come back! =)). It was already 9pm when I arrived at the apartment, feeling to tired, but happy because I had fun with the girls. :)

Again, happy birthday to my sis! Thanks for a wonderful trip! God Bless! And to the girls, let's do this again! ^_______________^

I am a FAN of...

DIRK NOWITZKI.

Since I'm not doing anything, I am posting a collage of some pictures of my favorite NBA player, the 2011 Finals MVP, Dirk Nowitzki. Before, I like him because he can shoot the ball well. Now, I have a better understanding of the reason why I like him: his ATTITUDE.

There are many great players in the NBA, but only few has the attitude that you would be proud to tell the whole world that he's the one you admire. Some are young and great but lacks humility. They are simply overwhelmed by their "popularity" and ability to sell millions or even billions worth of products. I don't want to name them but if you're following NBA, you would know. I am not telling that they're wrong but based on my standards, they're nothing.

Still, I believe that someone who's popular like them should serve as an inspiration and motivation to the youth who aspire to follow their steps.

Am I excited?

Same blog. New design.
I really love pink, and I can't resist the idea of redesigning my blog with something pink. I dunno I just love pink though I'm not the girly type. There's something in pink-black-white combination that attracts me. Something that I could not explain, it just attracts me.

Today, we had a meeting at the office and the idea of going to Korea...again...was brought up by our Korean manager. Team managers and team leaders are most likely to go there this year. Well, to be honest, I like the idea of going there. I'm not a hypocrite. However, its not my priority right now. I wanna go there but I have to wait for some months before I apply again. To tell you honestly, I want to go but going to Vietnam is giving me more thrill. Maybe because I'm going there with my friends. Or maybe because I know someone special is there right now. :) Weird considering that person comes from Korea. Hahaha.

Well, who can't resist this?

Laguna Escapade

Last Saturday, my team went to Pansol for our team building activity. We left Manila around 5pm and arrived there around 6:30. The whole team was able to join except Ena who just gave birth last week. Congratulations, Mommy Ena! Chukahae! :)

The place was a little bit creepy, atleast according to some of my members, since it's located at a dead end. But I think everyone still had a great time because of each other's company. It was really a fun night!

Highlight of the Night:

Probably, the activity that we had for our team. We had this question and answer activity about each member. Whoever gets the correct answer will receive a reward, and whoever answer wrongly will be given punishment. I really enjoyed that part because they're all game and cooperative. I also love the part wherein I got to know them well even if we've been together for months already. It's always great knowing new things about your friends.

Thanks everyone for your cooperation. I hope we can do it again! :)

On KHJ's World Tour

Yesterday, I was a bit surprised that when I arrived home and turned on my lappie, I saw this very exciting news about Kim Hyun Joong. Thanks to Wonderrgirl for translating it. :)

(Thank you to kimhyunjoong24 for the news pic)

Hallyu star Kim Hyun Joong’s will soon begin the biggest world tour in K-POP singer’s history. On the 23th, Kim Hyun Joong’s company KEYEAST revealed that the concert will begin on the third week of September with Seoul as the first stop to start the concert tour, and will go to 20 cities worldwide, with about 30~40 concerts. It will be a 6 months project with plans for the last concert in Busan, early next year.

For the tour, there are plans for North America, South America, Europe etc will be included, as well as Central Asia and North Europe; places where no other Korean celebrity has ever step foot into before. Together with the partner, a global IT business company, who will work together with the company for the tour, official notice will be uploaded next month on the website and regular promotions will begin. Before the concert tour, there are plans for a new album to be released, and at the moment recording and preparations for it are ongoing.

Also, for the upcoming April, activities with mainland China top stars to record an album and further activities are also in the midst of ongoing preparations.

Last year, Kim Hyun Joong debuted as a solo in June, and have released two albums as well as an Asia tour and a Japanese debut. From last year, many big agencies have been expanding out by sending their idol groups to perform all over the world. For this tour (Kim Hyun Joong’s), it contains a resolution for an unparalleled position of a solo singer.

- other news not related to Hyun Joong omitted -
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anna: What an exciting news! I'm so excited about his world tour! Of course, I'm praying that Philippines would be one of those countries he would visit. As a fan, I am so proud of him because I want him to be known in all parts of the world. It would be great if people from other continents will be able to witness how great he is. It is his dream to be able to perform in front of his fans all over the world, so I'm very much as excited as him.

Because of his schedule, I think he wont be able to star in a drama this year. He has plans of promoting in China, then a new album come June. By September, the world tour will start already, so it's really impossible. I really miss seeing him act. But if it's what he wants, I don't mind it. I can still rewatch BOF and Playful Kiss many times. LOL.

Hyun Joong ah, I know that you are preparing very hard for this tour. I will pray for your success. Your happiness is my happiness. And your success is every Henecian's success. :)

PBA Friday is Love :)

Last Friday was kinda special because I went back to a place where I used to hang out. It's been months since I went there to watch a concert of my favorite group. However, last Friday I came back to a very memorable place called Araneta Coliseum, with my housemate, Yuri. I actually went there because of two reasons, of course, basketball, and second is to let Yuri experience PBA.

When we got there, we found out out that the only available seats are upper A and upper B. Sigh. We didn't have any choice but to settle for them because we really wanna watch. We're supposed to buy extra tix so we could go back between games but we opted not to because we're not sure if there would be available seats in the second game. Kinda sad about it because I wanna have a pic with some players from Powerade.

So we entered the venue and begun watching. At first, we were a little quiet but later during the second half, we were shouting and cheering already for the Tigers. The game was closed but ROS was leading, but JV Casio and Marcio Lassiter played well in the endgame to win the game. Impressive win! People were cheering and shouting at the venue! I think they wanted Powerade to win more than ROS. And I was one of them! ROS have talented players but I don't like their style. Period. At the end of the first game, I was breathless. LOL.
Second game was totally different. Although, it was as exciting as the first game, I was very quiet and timid. I don't know but I couldn't find the motivation to cheer. So I kept quiet and let Yuri cheer for Petron. Haha. GO Yuri!! TnT by the way won and forced game 6. kekeke.

I think Yuri had fun during the games. I'm happy that she was able to experience watching and cheering for her favorite player and team. I, myself was happy because I was able to go back and watch PBA again, remember all the memories I had when I was still active supporting my favorite player. But of course, it makes me feel sad because every time I remember him, I also feel sad because I was that he's still playing right now. it brings me the realization that he won't come back anymore, and all left were memories...nice memories.

As of writing, the finalists aren't clear yet. There would be game 7 on Wednesday. Unfortunately, I won't be able to watch because Cuneta Astrodome is far from my place. Game 1 would an out-of-town game, so I won't be able to watch. If Powerade makes it, definitely I would watch. But if not, I would be contented watching on TV. God Bless to Powerade!
