Before, I only listened to Filipino and English songs. But now? My favorite play list is mainly consists of Korean songs. How did it happen?
Blame it to one MAN! And that is KIM HYUN JOONG.
I've been teaching Korean students for the past four years and I must say that I have always kept myself away from them. Before, I used to tell myself, I'm just here to work. I won't attach myself to their culture. During that time, I couldn't imagine myself as a teacher because honestly, it wasn't my dream job. I just gave it a try since I need a part-time job.
Since I am a teacher, I tried my best to be updated with their culture. I learned that they have a lot of idol group/singers in their country and they're quite famous there. I learned that Big Bang, Super Junior, and DBSK are very popular. I tried doing some research about them including girl groups so I could have something to tell my students. during class. Unfortunately, none from these groups caught my attention. Peace :).
Then came Boys Over Flower...
I was researching about it because of my classes. From the reports, I knew Lee Min Ho and Kim Beom. I told myself, "their cute" but that's all. I tried watching it because I wanted to know how Koreans interpret this famous Japanese manga. I've watched the Taiwanese version and I wasn't swept away by it. Yup! It's true!
When I was watching the series already, I tried to look for someone whom I would watch. I was expecting that I would like Kim Beom since he played the role of Xi Men, (Ken Zu in Taiwan) but it never happened. I admit he's very handsome just like Lee Min Ho and Kim Jun. But there's no chance because someone from the F4 already caught my attention, and he's none other than, Kim Hyun Joong. Because I really like him in the drama, I dunno if it's smile, charisma, acting, or mix of everything which caught my attention, but the bottom line is, I chose him!
I researched him on the internet and I found out that he's actually the leader of a popular group, SS501. Through him, I was able to get to know the other members, Young Saeng, Kyu Jong, Jung Min, and Hyung Joon. And the rest is history.....

I like Because I'm Stupid of the Trio, but I fell in love with KHJ's acoustic version of it.
Now, I'm ready to fall in love again with his voice. Some people don't appreciate his voice compared to the other members of the group, but I just love his voice!
