How I Got Into Kpop?

How I Got Into Kpop?

I've Got a very short answer for you: KHJ!

To start with, lemme state that I've been teaching ESL to Korean students since 2006. ESL refers to English as Second Language. Here, we teach English to Korean students through a certain program, which could be video or phone. Being a teacher since 2006, I've encountered different kinds of students, been exposed to their culture and everything. Since I'm a teacher and I had to be aware of anything related to them, I had to research about their culture, language, and other things including their rising (debatable, if some don't agree) Kpop phenomenon.

I'm aware of their famous Kpop artists like TVXQ, BoA, Super Junior, Wondergirls, Big Bang, Girl Generation. However, none of them got me into Kpop. And that's a FACT! Deal with it, baby! I actually tried listening to their songs because I was quite fascinated with their popularity. When you're curious what's inside a bag, you have to open and look inside right? And that's what I did. I watched videos and of course downloaded some of their famous songs to satisfy my curiousity. But sad to say, no one got me into Kpop. :( It's hard to explain the reason but to simplify things, let's just say that they didn't charm me.

It was 2009 when things changed. Thanks to this young lad who caught my attention from the first day I saw him.

This skinny guy from BOF, famously known as Yoon Ji Hoo kept me watching Boys Over Flower. That's true, If I would only watch the other characters, I would just probably chose to sleep. From BOF, I did my homework of researching about him to the fullest. LOL. I spent long hours in front of the computer watching his videos to make up for the lost time. Lost time since he debuted in 2005, I missed almost 4 years! Damn! I'm so ignorant! LOL. I didn't have any intention of buying ipod but because of him, I bought one so I could watch his videos anytime I want. Am I telling a lot? lol

However, I felt that I'm still lucky coz I was able to know him. I'm really thankful to BOF because I got to know Kim Hyun Joong, and because of him, another world has opened for me to enjoy and explore. The language might be a problem because I only knew few Korean words but I don't mind it at all. I might not be able to understand them fully but somehow in my heart, I could feel the melody and it's real meaning.

This guy who got me into Kpop, is not of course the greatest singer in Korea. His fans know that, but everytime he performs and sings, I can feel his sincerity and emotions. Something that some singers who can hit high notes lack. Before I used to ask myself, what's so special about him? What separates him from the others? Why am I giving a lot of attention to him? I don't have to answer those questions anymore because I already know. He's THE ONE! When you found the ONE, you won't look for anyone else. You will just be happy and contented with him around.

I Chose You...

Let's just say that another blogger inspired me to be write this entry. However, even before I wanted to write this, coz this is how I feel.

Look I've been fan of SS501 for quite some time now since I watched Boys Over Flower. The guy playing the role of Yoon Ji Hoo caught my attention even if the other F4 guys were also good-looking, but I guess his charisma is quite special and unexplainable. Through him, I got to know four great young men who just want to perform and make their fans happy.

However, change is the only constant thing in this world. Whether we like it or now, a group is bound to be disbanded or whatever you call it.

To be honest, I am one of those who are happy that they decided to concentrate on their own careers. Why? Because I want them to grow. I don't want them to grow old being part of an idol group. I want them to improve their skills, learn how to stand on their own, and become famous individually coz I believe all of them are worth the love and popularity.

However, as a fan, I cannot promise to look at all of them. Admit it or not, in a group, you will always have a bias or a favorite. And in this said group, my heart only belongs to Leader. Finally, I would like the world to know that I'm a Henecian, not a Triple S. My appreciation and love for SS started with HJ and it would end with HJ. If HJ leaves, so do I. If HJ and the others come back as a group, I would be very happy since I've learned to appreciate the other four.
But for now, I have to make this decision. ^^

P.S.
I am certainly happy with what's going on HJ's career. From being idol, his popularity really soared higher, as in very high. Of course, it is attributed to a lot of reasons, but bottom line is his hardwork and determination are paying off. I believe he'll become more famous in the coming years, he's just starting actually. kkkk. As his fan, I'm praying that somehow in spite of his popularity, he lives a normal life. This man is making a lot of people happy, so he deserves to be happy, too. And whoever that person who's making HJ happy these days, thank you. (Oh Hani?) LOL.

Thanks to WONDERRRGIRL for inspiring me to write this piece of entry. ^^ This entry is difficult to write because I have friends who love the group so much, but this is the path I chose and I know they will respect me. :)

Wish me Luck!

Bloggin through my email..

What can I say, I'm pretty messed up these days because of QA. I have to evaluate 6 teachers and I have to pass it before the 24th.

Gosh! How can I watch their classes if I do have classes, too.

Wish me luck!

And by the way, I don't have any Facebook now. I'm happy and contented coz I don't have to update anything everyday. I'm contented with Twitter and much happier that I can keep my privacy. Of course I miss FB coz of some few friends there but I feel a lot better now.

Cheers!

The only thing I regret bout having no Facebook is lack of means to communicate with him, but I have to get used to it. In the future, I believe our paths will cross again. And when that happens, I won't let him go.

Sigh. I really love my angel.

[KHJ] The Faceshop Event

So how do I start it?
I was a bit frustrated last Thursday night because I wasn't able to see even a single glimpse of Kim Hyun Joong. I could heard people screaming when he stepped on the stage. Everyone really went gaga over him. This fact is enough for me to make me happy even if I want to see him. Mixed emotion, indeed.

Because of this, I made sure to get the admission pass from Faceshop. After buying some items in the Trinoma branch, I was able to get this!

The following day, I was back in Trinoma! Wearing my Henecian shirt, I went inside the activity center happy that finally I could see KHJ. When I entered, they were showing some footages of KHJ shooting The Faceshop CF with Park Min Young. There were also videos of his visit in other Asian countries. The event was hosted by Grace Lee. She's really good and she's pretty!

There were some games before the KHJ came. I was just fortunate that I didn't win anything. Sigh. I'm not really lucky when it comes to raffle thingy. Well, fine! Let the others have it. Seeing KHJ is more than enough to make me happy. :)

Here's the crowd during the second day of KHJ's events in Trinoma. It was amazing just like the first day.

After the games, KHJ arrived and the crowd got excited again. So do I! I've waited long for this and honestly, I dunno I felt during that time. It's always unexplainable when I see him. I dunno how you call but I really dont know the exact words. I cheered for him. I shouted for him. I did everything but still, that kind of "unknown" feeling is in me. Here's the video of KHJ's arrival and questions and answer portion with Grace Lee. I couldn't barely hear his interpreter, kudos to Grace Lee for translating KHJ's answer. Sorry for the quality because while I'm recording, I was also lookin at him. Kekeke.

He's so cute when he's speaking Tagalog expressions like "Mahal Kita." Love it! Ikaw na, Kim Hyun Joong!

Then, the signing followed as well as picture taking with the winners. Envious much. But I guess, its not really my time to be closer to him. Who knows it will be my turn next time.

After this, he bid goodbye to us. Quite sad because I will definitely miss him, but happy because I got to see him even for a few minutes. There's another reason for me to be happy because I met new friends, my co-Henecians. And I got to wear our shirt! Proud Henecian, indeed!

Back of the shirt

Front of the shirt, the HJ's logo

Some freebies from Henecia Philippines. I so love my Henecian card!

That's it! Although I was able to see HJ for a few minutes only, my happiness is over-the-top! Seeing him makes me feel recharged. Right now, I'm saving already for his concert next year! Opps, he has an album comin up next month, so I better get ready.

Kim Hyun Joong, you're THE ONE!

Our Macau 2011 Trip....

Before we used to be 6, now we're just 3! Before we used to have Miss Ydel to lead us to our next destination. We used to have Karen and Anne who always volunteer to take pic of us. Now, we're on our own! Lhyza, Sam, and myself are facing a big challenge to tour Macau while having lotsa FUN!

We took the 7:30 flight to Macau from Manila. We originally planned to go to the airport at 4pm but Lhyza and I had to go to the mall first to buy a camera. Yeah, a camera. LOL. Lhyza just convinced me to buy so we could have a backup camera. I bought the Samsung one with "beauty shot." kekeke. When we went home, we received a message from Sam that she's in the airport already. Sam was soooo freakin excited! I packed my things inside my bag then went to the washroom only to find out that my monthly period just came. Talk about bad timing! I indeed up lashing out of anger..grrrr, but I told myself, this shouldn't ruin my trip. So I fixed myself up and went to the airport with my friend. We arrived there before 6pm, met Sam, and accomplished all the documents that we needed to fill up. Of course, that includes all the payments, interviews, and everything. Though we're excited for our trip, we didn't let go of the chance to take pics before boarding. LOL

Our plane landed around 9:30pm in Macau. We didn't have any problem in the Immigration, so we hurriedly lined up outside the airport for the bus. It took time before we could figure out the bus number that we'll get up to the ferry terminal.

Sad thing, when we got to the terminal, we called Riviera Hotel only to find out that it was fully-booked. With the help of the available wi-fi connection there, we searched for the other hotels and called them. Unfortunately, the available hotels were so expensive, TT_TT. We decided to go to the hotel we thought we're safe and secured even if we had to spend a lot, The Venetian. We went to the other side of the road and took the shuttle to Venetian. Sigh...

Lhyza and I inquired about the hotel accommodation. Whew! It was so expensive since it's weekend. Good thing, we met a Filipino staff there who helped us find a room for a reasonable price. He accompanied us back to the city center and made sure we're comfortable before attending to his wife. It was around 2am when we finally hit the sack thinking that next day we'll have fun! :)
